First time #hiking the Starway Trail, on the north side of Silver Star Mountain. The steepness offset by the great views and some huckleberries still ripe! I'll have to come back when the waterfalls on that side aren't dry.
Mountain valley, with Silver Star summit upper left, trees lining the left side slopes, and scattered trees, brush and talus on the slopes on the right. There's a dry waterfall track lower left. Scaly Chanterelle mushroom, kind of orange funnel shaped, nestled in some dirt and plants at the edge of the trail. Don't eat these, they are not the good kind of chanterelle. These produce nausea in most people!
Bluff Mountain, with Mt. Hood way in the distance. Bluff is kind of a bare mound of talus. Foreground is another talus field along the Starway trail with red and green colored brush, and between that and Bluff is a valley with trees lining the adjacent slopes. Looking straight up in the middle of a stand of firs. Blue sky beyond the tree tops.
nice to see something from you again! regards from Vienna
